Wardrobe Capsule: How to create Minimalist wardrobe

Having my own wardrobe capsule have definitely helped me sift through all my clothes. It's just a grab and go now! I don't have to spend an hour trying out and figuring out what looks good on me! Cause I know everything in my closet looks good on me! Here are my tips on how I did it!

1. Get rid of the "meh" and "maybe I can make this work" clothes!
If you don't love or even like it, get it out of your closet! Sift through your clothes and keep only the ones you always wear and love to wear.

2. If it doesn't match the rest, maybe it's time to say goodbye
I know this is hard but you need to think again and ask yourself. If that top only suits you when you wear one certain pant and only a certain occasion. You need to think again if you really need to keep that. I realized that it's best to keep clothes that matches most of your other clothes because honestly... Those are the ones you usually wear.

3. Find out your style and colour palette
When I sift through my things, I realized there's a certain type of clothes I like. I think the best way to make a wardrobe capsule is to figure out and define what is your style. For example, I love crop tops and high-waisted jeans so most of my casual clothes consist of that. Find out what type of clothes you like and most importantly, clothes that suits you. One of the easiest way is to look at the clothes you constantly wear. You can start from there.

*Another tip I got from a Youtuber is to envision how you want your capsule to look like. Maybe try pinning on pinterest the clothes you like and like to wear. It'll help you see the bigger picture of the style you're going for and help define what style of clothes to keep and get.

I realized many minimalists like to define their colour palette. Some may keep it to grey, black and white or grey, black and blue. This makes it easier to mix and match your clothes. But!!! It really depends on what you like. You don't have to have a monochrome closet to be minimalistic. Like for me, I like a lot of white but I also have a lot of bright and pastel colours in my closet. It's easier to have a set of palette but you don't have to if you don't want to. Maybe start with a palette you like such as what your favourite colour to wear?

4. Will I really wear this if I buy it?
So, you've went through your closet and have a great set of a wardrobe capsule. Now, the great problem is how to maintain it. You don't want to regress back to the old mess of a closet... So every time you go out shopping, have an idea of what type of clothes you would go for beforehand and keep in mind a wishlist of the things you want and need. If it's not on your list and doesn't suit your style, don't get it. You might just only wear it once or twice.

Now off my child! You're ready to set your clothes aflame!!
